***IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS***

Volunteer Opportunity!!
The C&O Canal Trust and C&O Canal National Historical Park are planning for the third annual C&O Canal Pride Days, which are scheduled for:

Saturday, April 17 at Great Falls 8:30am – 12 noon
                Sunday, April 18 at Pennyfield 8:30am – 12 noon
                Saturday, May 1 at Williamsport 8:30am – 12 noon
Saturday, May 8 at Paw Paw 8:30am – 12 noon
                Saturday, June 5in Montgomery County 8:30am – 12 noon

The purpose of C&O Canal Pride Days is to ready the park for the visitor season by tackling its backlog of small but important conservation and maintenance projects such as repairing fence boards, painting, and removing overgrown vegetation.  C&O Canal Pride Days is a great opportunity for students to get outside, meet new people, earn Student Service Learning Hours, and help revitalize the park we love!  Refreshments will be provided to jump start each day’s activities.  Additional information and a PDF of the event flyer can be found at http://www.canaltrust.org/canalpridedays-2010.php .

It is important that all interested groups and individuals preregister so we can match volunteers to jobs in advance.  We encourage everyone to sign up using our online application at http://www.canaltrust.org/canalpride-app-2010.php
